Synopsis

A summer camp gives children of Moldovan migrants a chance to be in touch with their roots, and Cătălin went there during his childhood in 2016. He grew up in Italy, after his parents left Moldova for better job opportunities abroad. He speaks Romanian with an Italian accent and loves traditional Moldovan dishes but has an Italian lifestyle. He’s 19 now and is a typical teenager, but his family continues to push him to connect with his heritage. He once said he can love two countries at once, but is that still true? Will he ever come home?

Biography

Natalia Sergheev is a journalist and documentary filmmaker based in Chisinau, Moldova. Her work is focused on social and human rights issues, with an interest in exploration of identity and migration.
